2017
Where it all began
A close group of Sri Lankan friends start casual tennis-ball cricket on weekends in Hobart. From a shared love of the game, the seeds of a community are sown.
2019
The club is officially founded
On 6 October 2019 the Lions join the ICSL league and step up to leather-ball cricket — starting with just two sets of gear and a lot of heart.
2020–22
Resilience & growth
Through challenging seasons the club grows its squad, sharpens its skills, and deepens the friendships that define the Lions on and off the field.
2023–24
HCL League Semi-Finalists
A landmark season — the Lions reach the HCL 23/24 Semi-Finals, cementing their reputation as one of Hobart's finest community cricket clubs.
2025–26
A new chapter
A fresh committee leads the club forward, expanding into badminton and cultural life while flying the flag for Sri Lankan pride across Tasmania.
